Caryn Tanis founded the company in 1987, having done extensive traveling throughout the Americas.  She has spent over 20 years dedicated to the duty free industry and has expanded into travel and tourism. 

Born in Philadelphia, Tanis spent most of her formative years in New York and worked as a Copywriter for several advertising agencies before moving to Miami.  Caryn resides with her husband Barry Boren, an attorney in Customs and International Trade, son Brett and daughter Margot. 

She is an avid water/snow skier, longtime patron of the New World Symphony and Miami City Ballet, Heat fan, active Democratic supporter, Founding President of non-profit Patchwork, member of the Advertising Federation of Greater Miami and the International Advertising Association.
